Custom Sign RFQ Frequently Asked Questions

1.What custom signs can Azovo manufacture?

Azovo manufactures multiple commercial signage families including illuminated and non-illuminated lettering, logo signs, light boxes, cabinet signs, blade signs, dimensional signage, architectural signs, ADA-related products, wayfinding products and complete project sign packages. Final feasibility depends on dimensions, material, construction, electrical requirements, site conditions and destination requirements. Complex or unfamiliar designs are reviewed before Azovo confirms a production route.

2.Can I order only one custom sign?

Yes. Azovo’s published procurement wording is MOQ starts from one piece. A one-piece custom order may still require engineering, samples, special materials, tooling, packaging or international freight depending on the product. Unit pricing for one piece should therefore not be assumed to equal bulk pricing. Some specified materials or components may also carry supplier minimum quantities.

3.What information does Azovo need for a quote?

A useful RFQ normally begins with the product requirement, logo or artwork, approximate or confirmed dimensions, quantity, indoor or outdoor use, destination and required date. Materials, finish, illumination, colour or CCT, mounting, voltage, power, packaging and site information should be included when known. Missing information can be identified during technical clarification rather than replaced with hidden assumptions.

4.Can Azovo quote from a logo only?

A logo can support an early discussion or budgetary estimate, but it is generally not enough for a final production price on a complex project. Size, quantity, material, illumination, destination, installation conditions and other specifications affect engineering and cost. Azovo specifically avoids treating a logo-only request as complete technical information for a large project.

5.Do I need exact dimensions before contacting Azovo?

Not necessarily for the first discussion. Approximate dimensions or the available installation area can help Azovo narrow product options and prepare questions. Final production, however, requires controlled dimensions. If site size affects mounting, cable position, segmentation or structural interfaces, the relevant measurements should be confirmed by the responsible project or site team before production release.

6.Can Azovo recommend the appropriate sign construction?

Yes, Azovo can review the visual requirement, dimensions, environment, illumination, materials, installation conditions and project priorities to develop a manufacturable direction. The recommendation remains subject to confirmed project inputs. Where structural, regulatory or local site conditions require professional approval outside the product manufacturing scope, those items remain with the responsible local parties.

7.What design files can I send to Azovo?

Azovo can work from project information such as logos, drawings, architectural information, photographs and other design references and develop them into applicable renderings, shop drawings, structural or electrical drawings, installation drawings and manufacturing information. Production follows approved drawings and formal production release rather than a concept rendering alone.

8.Can Azovo provide a budget estimate first?

Yes, when information is incomplete, Azovo can use clearly stated assumptions to support a budgetary or conditional quotation. A budget estimate should not be treated as a final production price. A formal quote becomes stronger as product configuration, quantities, materials, technical requirements, destination, packaging, shipping scope and installation conditions are clarified.

9.What usually affects custom sign pricing?

Price can be affected by dimensions, quantity, material grade and thickness, fabrication complexity, finish, lighting, electrical components, structural requirements, samples, tooling, testing, packaging, delivery terms and destination. A lower total is not directly comparable if another quotation includes different materials, testing, engineering or logistics scope. Azovo therefore evaluates the configuration behind the price, not only the final number.

10.When does a quotation become ready for production?

A quotation or accepted price alone does not release manufacturing. Production requires the applicable approved drawings, quantities, materials, sample or First Article where required, payment, production planning, quality requirements and packaging or shipping data. Azovo treats quotation, approval and production release as different project states.

1.Can Azovo manufacture directly from our logo?

Azovo can use approved logo artwork as the visual starting point, but the logo still needs to be translated into a physical sign structure. Size, stroke geometry, material, depth, lighting, mounting, electrical configuration and site conditions can affect manufacturability. Where the original geometry creates a production risk, Azovo can identify the issue and prepare an option for approval rather than silently changing the brand artwork.

2.Can Azovo use our brand font?

Yes. Approved brand typography can be retained as the visual standard. Azovo reviews actual letter geometry at the required sign size because very narrow strokes, counters, sharp corners or connected script details can affect cutting, bending, illumination and assembly. A manufacturing change affecting the approved visual geometry should be shown for approval rather than introduced automatically.

3.Can Azovo match our brand colour?

Azovo can work from references such as Pantone, CMYK, RGB or physical samples and translate them into the applicable paint, powder coating, acrylic, printed or illuminated production system. Identical numerical colour references may appear different across substrates, gloss levels and lighting conditions. Colour-critical projects may therefore require physical samples or controlled finish references before bulk production.

4.What happens if our design is difficult to manufacture?

Azovo can identify the specific risk—such as narrow strokes, small internal openings, unsupported elements, inadequate lighting space or difficult structural interfaces—and propose a practical response. Depending on the design, this may involve scaling, local geometry changes, another material, another construction method, a sample or additional engineering verification. Visible design changes remain subject to appropriate approval.

5.Does Azovo provide Shop Drawings?

Yes. Azovo can develop approved design information into controlled shop drawings and related engineering documents according to the project. Drawings can define product identity, dimensions, materials, finishes, illumination, electrical configuration, structure and installation interfaces. Concept renderings are not treated as direct manufacturing instructions; production follows controlled approved documents.

6.Does drawing approval mean production can start?

Not automatically. Drawing approval confirms the applicable information contained in the drawing, but Azovo still needs to confirm material availability, BOM, engineering status, quantity, payment, schedule, quality or test plan, packaging and shipping data before formal Production Release. Different approval types perform different functions.

7.Can we specify our own materials and components?

Yes. Azovo can review client-specified materials and components. Supply source, specification, suitability, certification, MOQ, lead time, compatibility, warranty and substitution rules may need confirmation. A customer specification does not require Azovo to use a material that is clearly unsuitable or unsafe for the intended product or environment.

8.Can we choose the illumination colour or CCT?

Yes. Where applicable, the project can define fixed colour, colour temperature, RGB/RGBW or dimming requirements. The visible result also depends on face material, internal depth, LED arrangement, diffusion and surrounding conditions. Lighting-sensitive projects may require a physical sample or First Article so the finished optical result can be reviewed before larger quantities are manufactured.

9.Can Azovo develop product mounting details?

Azovo can develop product-level installation interfaces, mounting points, brackets, templates, cable exits and related installation information based on confirmed project data. Final wall capacity, foundation design, anchors and local structural approval remain subject to the real site and responsible local professionals unless a different written project scope applies.

10.Who approves the final sign design?

Approval authority should be defined by the project. Azovo can submit artwork, drawings, samples and technical information for review, but the authorized client or project representative confirms brand, message, visual and other project requirements within their responsibility. Formal revision and approval records are especially important for large programmes where several teams participate in decisions.

1.Does Azovo provide custom sign samples?

Yes. Azovo supports material, colour, finish, lighting, partial-structure, full mock-up and First Article samples according to project needs. The correct sample type depends on what must be verified. A small colour chip cannot validate a complete illuminated structure, while a full product sample may be unnecessary when only a material or finish needs approval.

2.How long does a standard sample take?

Standard sample manufacturing is generally recorded at approximately 5–7 days after the applicable drawing, material and sample-release conditions are complete. The period refers to manufacturing, not international arrival. Special material procurement, customer approval, additional testing, tooling and international transit can extend the overall calendar time.

3.How long does a complex sample take?

Complex sample manufacturing is generally recorded at approximately 7–10 days after the applicable drawing, material and sample-release conditions are complete. Complexity may involve unusual structures, special materials, illumination development, tooling or other project-specific work. Final timing should therefore be confirmed after Azovo understands the actual sample scope.

4.What can a material sample approve?

A material sample can help confirm material type, colour, thickness, finish or visual direction within its stated scope. It does not automatically approve the complete sign structure, electrical system, illumination, mounting or overall dimensions. Azovo recommends connecting every sample to the specific characteristic being approved so later production teams understand what the approval actually controls.

5.What can a lighting sample approve?

A lighting sample can evaluate aspects such as colour or CCT, diffusion, hotspots, dark areas, halo behaviour or the interaction between LED and face material. Its value depends on how closely the sample represents the final geometry and construction. A small lighting test does not automatically approve unrelated structural, mounting or complete-product requirements.

6.When should a First Article be used?

A First Article is valuable when the first production-ready product should be checked against the approved drawing, material, finish, construction, electrical configuration or other critical requirements before repeated manufacturing proceeds. It becomes especially useful after new tooling, significant changes, factory transfer or other conditions where repeating an unverified feature across a larger batch would create unnecessary risk.

7.Can a sample be approved through photographs or video?

Photographs and video can support remote review, but their suitability depends on what is being approved. Camera exposure, screens and lighting can distort colour, gloss and illumination. Azovo therefore does not treat images as a universal substitute for physical validation when a high-control colour, material or finish decision requires an actual approved reference.

8.Can the sample be revised before bulk production?

Yes. If a sample reveals an issue, the design, material, finish, lighting or construction can be reassessed before bulk release. The updated result should be linked to the latest drawing and approved reference. Production should not continue from an obsolete sample simply because the original version had once been approved.

9.Does one approved sample guarantee every future batch?

No sample eliminates the need for production control. Bulk manufacturing should follow the approved sample, First Article and latest drawings, with materials, batches, processes and inspections controlled accordingly. If important materials, suppliers, geometry or production conditions change, Azovo evaluates whether additional approval or a new sample is required.

10.Are Azovo samples always free?

Azovo’s current controlled facts do not support a blanket statement that every design, sample or tooling requirement is free. Sample, tooling, packaging and freight costs are confirmed according to the project. The appropriate sample scope should be decided first so the commercial discussion reflects what is actually being developed and shipped.

1.Is Azovo a custom sign manufacturer?

Yes. Azovo is a commercial signage engineering and manufacturing company established in 2005. Its role extends from design development and manufacturing documentation through production, inspection, testing, packaging, delivery support and applicable product-level installation support. The company should not be reduced to a single-product factory because projects can involve multiple sign types and controlled engineering information.

2.How large is Azovo’s manufacturing network?

Azovo records six production facilities, 20 production lines and a coordinated manufacturing network. Across the six facilities, current controlled records note approximately 36,000 m² of manufacturing space and more than 600 employees. Facility-specific product allocation depends on product family, process, equipment, engineering complexity, quality requirements, schedule and packaging needs.

3.What monthly production capacity does Azovo record?

Azovo records a combined monthly manufacturing capacity of approximately 20,000 pieces. The figure represents overall company-level production capacity, not 20,000 complete sign systems of every configuration. Actual output depends on product dimensions, materials, fabrication complexity, electrical work, testing, packaging and delivery sequence.

4.Can Azovo handle both one-piece and bulk orders?

Yes. MOQ starts from one piece, while Azovo also supports larger production programmes. The engineering and commercial process changes with project scale. A one-off reception logo may use a relatively simple approval route, while a multi-location programme may require First Articles, controlled revisions, Product IDs, multiple batches, location-specific packaging and phased delivery.

5.How is a production order released?

Production should start from formal Production Release rather than an informal message. Applicable inputs include current drawings, approved materials, quantity, sample or First Article where required, schedule and risk conditions. Production planning also connects the work order with process routes, inspection requirements and packaging information so the factory knows exactly which approved configuration it is manufacturing.

6.How does Azovo control drawing revisions?

Production should use the current controlled drawing and remove or clearly invalidate obsolete versions. Work orders, BOMs, work instructions, visual standards, QC checklists and test requirements should correspond with the valid revision. This reduces the risk of an old logo, previous hole pattern or earlier material specification being used after the project has changed.

7.How are materials controlled during production?

Material control can include Material Code, grade or model, lot, quantity and applicable receiving inspection. Material specifications should be connected with the approved product rather than described with vague terms such as “metal” or “high-quality LED.” Substitution of a critical material should be reviewed for technical, visual, certification, cost and lead-time effects before approval.

8.Does Azovo use First Article control?

Yes, First Piece or First Article review can be considered for new work orders, line changes, factory changes, important material changes or other major production changes. High-risk characteristics should not simply be repeated across a large quantity before the first production-ready result has been checked against the controlling requirement.

9.How does Azovo manage multi-SKU or multi-store production?

Products can be identified through Product ID, Store or Location, process status, quantity and revision information. Multi-location programmes may also use Store Codes, Package IDs, Accessory Kit IDs and Shipment IDs. Similar-looking signs should remain separated by controlled identification because different dimensions, messages, voltage or mounting arrangements can create distinct production configurations.

10.Is standard production always completed in 7–10 days?

Standard bulk production is generally recorded at approximately 7–10 days after applicable drawing, material, sample where required, payment and production-release conditions are completed. Complex projects are evaluated separately. Shipping, customs, customer approval and other project stages are not included automatically in the production period.

1.What quality stages does Azovo use?

Azovo’s confirmed quality stages include IQC, First Article, In-process Inspection, Final Inspection, Packaging Inspection, Pre-shipment Inspection, and applicable customer or third-party inspection, with records and traceability. The exact inspection plan depends on the product and project. Inspection points should define the characteristic, method, sample size or inspection range, acceptance requirement, record and reaction plan.

2.Does Azovo inspect incoming materials?

Incoming material control can verify information such as grade, thickness, colour, supplier, lot and correct product assignment according to the applicable material and project. This matters because visually similar materials may have different grades or performance. Material identity should therefore rely on controlled purchasing and inspection records rather than appearance alone.

3.What is checked during First Article inspection?

The First Article can verify the applicable production-ready characteristics before repeat manufacturing. Depending on the sign, this may include identity, dimensions, material, finish, structure, illumination, electrical configuration, mounting interface and other critical items. The First Article scope follows the approved product and risk rather than one identical checklist for every sign.

4.Are finished signs inspected before packing?

Yes. Final inspection is one of Azovo’s confirmed quality stages. Finished-product review can check product identity, current drawing, dimensions, material, colour, finish, structure, electrical and lighting requirements, mounting interfaces, accessories and other applicable criteria before packaging release. Packaging inspection then confirms that the correct protected product and required accessories enter the correct package.

5.Does every illuminated product receive 72-hour aging?

Azovo supports 72-hour aging as part of its illuminated-product quality and testing capability. The company’s public technical language avoids claiming that every product receives every available test regardless of type or project. Test scope should remain connected to the applicable illuminated configuration and agreed quality requirements.

6.What other tests can Azovo support?

Azovo supports illumination, water-resistance, electrical, grounding, power, brightness, colour-temperature, salt-spray, adhesion and temperature testing according to applicable products and project requirements. Not every test applies to every sign. The useful question is therefore not “Does Azovo run every test?” but “Which tests are relevant to the approved product, environment and risk?”

7.Can customers arrange third-party inspection?

Yes. Azovo supports third-party inspection and customer-resident inspection as project capabilities. Inspection scope, timing, access, documentation and acceptance requirements should be agreed in advance so the inspection can be linked with the actual product, batch, drawing revision and required release stage.

8.Are all Azovo products UL, CE or otherwise certified?

No blanket statement should be made that every Azovo product carries every certification. Company-system certificates, certified components, product test reports and finished-product certification or listing have different scopes. Finished-product requirements depend on the model, destination, standard and project. A certified component does not automatically give the complete sign the same listing.

9.Can Azovo manufacture IP65, IP67 or IP68 configurations?

Azovo can support IP65, IP67 and IP68 configurations according to the product construction, environment and approved project requirements. A rating should be connected to the relevant enclosure, sealing, cable entry, drainage, thermal and test conditions. It should not be interpreted as a blanket statement that every Azovo sign is permanently waterproof in every environment.

10.What happens when a product fails inspection?

Nonconforming material or products should be identified, controlled and prevented from continuing as accepted production. Depending on the issue, action may include correction, rework, replacement, material review or another controlled disposition, followed by the applicable reinspection or retesting. Azovo’s production system keeps rework, scrap and material substitutions controlled rather than treating corrections as informal workshop adjustments.

1.Does Azovo support international delivery?

Yes. Global delivery support is part of Azovo’s project capability. The shipment method and commercial scope are confirmed according to product dimensions, packaging, destination, schedule and agreed trade terms. Production completion, Ready to Ship, departure, delivery and installation-required date should be treated as separate milestones rather than one single “lead time.”

2.Is production time the same as delivery time?

No. Production, testing, packaging, international transportation, customs and final delivery are separate stages. Standard bulk production may generally be recorded at approximately 7–10 days after applicable release conditions, but this does not mean the order arrives at the destination 7–10 days after purchase.

3.How does Azovo pack custom signs?

Packaging is developed around the product’s size, finish, fragility, protruding parts, electrical components, handling and transportation route. Applicable records can connect Product IDs, Package IDs, accessories, templates, spare parts, weight, dimensions and Shipment ID. Packaging should protect the sign while also allowing the receiving and installation team to identify what is inside.

4.How are installation accessories packed?

Accessories can be organized through an Accessory Kit ID matched with the relevant Product ID, store or installation area. Mechanical hardware, power supplies, controllers, templates and smaller parts can be separated and identified before packing. This reduces the risk that the correct product reaches site but cannot be installed because its corresponding accessories were placed in another package.

5.Can Azovo ship different stores separately?

Yes. Multi-location programmes can use store codes, address IDs, Product IDs, Package IDs and Shipment IDs to manage delivery by location or wave. Store dimensions, drawings, messages, voltage, mounting method, packaging, address and required date can be confirmed individually while common brand and quality standards remain controlled across the programme.

6.Does Azovo provide installation drawings?

Yes. Azovo can provide installation drawings that connect product dimensions, mounting points, brackets, cable exits, electrical references, segmented interfaces and other applicable product-level installation information. The installer should use the current project-specific revision rather than assume that a typical drawing from another job applies to the actual site.

7.Can Azovo provide full-size templates?

Yes. Full-size 1:1 installation templates can be provided where applicable, particularly where individual letters, logo elements, mounting holes, stud positions, cable exits or spacing need controlled transfer to the installation surface. A template supports positioning but does not replace verification of wall construction, hidden services or final site anchors.

8.Does Azovo provide worldwide installation crews?

Azovo should not be described as automatically providing its own installation crews worldwide. Its confirmed scope includes product-level installation drawings, wiring diagrams, templates, manuals, videos, mounting hardware information, remote guidance and technical recommendations. Site installation, lifting, high-level work, final anchoring and construction safety remain with the responsible local teams unless a separate written scope applies.

9.Who performs the final electrical hardwiring?

Azovo controls the manufactured product-side electrical system and can provide product parameters, wiring information and technical support. Building circuits, breakers, final hardwiring, field grounding, local electrical codes and electrical acceptance are responsibilities of qualified local electricians unless the project documents define another arrangement.

10.Can Azovo provide remote installation support?

Yes. Azovo supports remote technical and video guidance for applicable projects. Support can help identify products and accessories, explain installation drawings, check templates, explain segmented assembly, clarify product-side wiring and assist with product-function troubleshooting. Remote technical guidance does not replace qualified local professionals for structural, electrical, lifting or site-safety work.

1.Can Azovo support multi-location signage programmes?

Yes. Azovo can manage complete or repeated signage programmes through structured schedules, approved drawings, product identification, packaging information and phased delivery. The engineering value is not simply producing a larger quantity; it is connecting brand standards, site data, manufacturing, quality, packaging and delivery into a traceable system.

2.Can every store use a different sign size?

Yes, when the project requires site adaptation. A brand programme can lock logo proportion, typography, colour, material, finish, illumination and other core visual standards while dimensions, mounting, cable exits, voltage and site-specific interfaces vary according to the approved location. Each variation should remain connected to the correct store and drawing revision.

3.How does Azovo identify products for different stores?

Programmes can use Store Codes, Location IDs, Product IDs, Accessory Kit IDs, Package IDs and Shipment IDs. These identifiers help distinguish products that may look similar but use different messages, dimensions, mounting configurations or electrical requirements. Identification continues into packaging and delivery so the installation team can match the correct product and accessories to the correct location.

4.Can different stores be manufactured in separate waves?

Yes. Rollouts can be divided according to approvals, opening dates, regions, sign families or other project requirements. Production and delivery waves allow ready locations to proceed without forcing the entire programme to wait for the last unresolved site. Each released wave still requires the applicable drawings, production, inspection, testing, packaging and shipping controls.

5.How are accessories matched with each location?

Accessories can be packed according to the specific store or Product ID and identified through an Accessory Kit ID. Applicable kits can contain templates, product hardware, power supplies, controllers, wiring information, spare parts and other project-specific items. This avoids using one unstructured box of hardware for many locations with different requirements.

6.How does Azovo maintain brand consistency across batches?

Multi-factory and multi-batch programmes can use common approved drawings, samples, material and colour standards, First Articles, quality checks, batch identification and packaging or delivery plans. The objective is controlled repeatability, while actual factory allocation remains based on the product and process requirements.

7.Can Azovo reproduce an earlier sign order?

Yes, where suitable project records remain available. Reorder review can use the original Project or Product ID, drawing revision, BOM, material, finish, LED, power supply, installation interface and production records. “Same as last time” is not sufficient by itself because materials, suppliers, certifications, brand artwork or site conditions may have changed.

8.What if the original material is discontinued?

Azovo can identify the original material and prepare a proposed substitute with the reason, technical comparison, visual difference, certification effect, cost, lead-time effect and sample requirement where applicable. Critical substitutions should not be introduced invisibly. The approved alternative should establish a new controlled project reference.

9.Can Azovo supply replacement parts or products?

Depending on the project and available records, Azovo can support replacement panels, letters, power supplies, controllers, accessories or complete replacement products. The replacement should first be linked to the correct original configuration and site. For older installations, product aging and current material availability may also need to be considered before defining the replacement standard.

10.How does Azovo keep information for later reorders?

Long-term project records can connect approved drawings, BOM information, materials, finishes, samples, testing, packaging, shipping, warranty records, claims and reorder history according to applicable retention requirements. The purpose is not to claim that every material remains available forever, but to identify the previous standard and manage any necessary change through a new valid revision.
